Successful BAFE SP203-3 audit for Cannon Fire Protection.

Cannon Fire Protection our fire suppression division has completed B.A.F.E’s SP203-3 audit.  Part of the audit was an inspection of a system that was installed by Cannon’s engineers. Cannon passed with no non-conformities identified.

The audit conducted by BAFE maintains Cannon’s BAFE Fixed Gaseous Fire Suppression systems SP203-3 accreditation.  This accreditation is relating to fixed gaseous fire suppression systems and having this accreditation enable Cannon design, install, commission & maintain fixed gas fire suppression systems.

Phil Burgin (Cannon Operations Director) said the following…

“The focus on this visit was installation so a special mention should go to engineers Russ and Tom who fitted the system we viewed. Thank you to everyone and keep up the good work.”

This is applicable 3 main types of system that Cannon install

  • Inert gas
  • Synthetic gas
  • Firetrace systems

Fixed gas fire suppression systems are usually best suited to data centres because they don’t use water this minimises the risk of any suppressant destroying servers/computers. These systems are near instant activation and therefore minimises both the risk of it spreading but also minimises any downtime.

B.A.F.E. is a completely independent body. Meaning B.A.F.E. accreditations are earned not bought. Additionally, accreditations get assessed annually. Having the SP203-3 accreditation enables Cannon to give confidence to customers by letting them know that Cannon meets all relevant standards and have been independently audited by a third party (such as B.A.F.E.), this validates and verifies Cannon’s competency. Which is very important when considering something as life-saving as fire suppression.
