£5278 was raised for charity at 6th annual Fire Industry Golf Society match.
Fire Industry Golf Society host an annual golf match, inviting key figures and companies from across the fire industry. The event is hosted at Belton-Woods near Grantham. Cannon Fire Protection sent Peter Ellin (Cannon Fire BDM) and Matt Hendry (Cannon Fire Suppression Engineer). Additionally, two people from APG went along to play for the APG/Cannon team, Craig Mackay & Nigel Jackson.
The competition was on ‘The Lakes’ course where water accompanies most holes, but many are now getting to know the course a bit better, others are finding the balls lost last year! The players voted for the charities to support this year and we are delighted to confirm them below, all very important and worthwhile charities who will each receive an equal share of the total monies raised.

Peter Ellin, Cannon Fire BDM said the following…
“The day was well organised with lots of companies attending including some customers of mine. Golfers of all abilities attended so you didn’t feel to under pressure to perform as there was a friendly atmosphere throughout the day. Presentation was good with most people dispersing quickly after, all in all great day and the sunshine made an appearance all day.”
Belton Woods is a superb venue and we are thankful to them for helping us make the 2019 event as successful as previous years. We enjoyed superb weather, a golf course in superb condition and 51 golfers went out to compete for the many prizes on offer.
The auction and raffle were very well supported after the meal and with all the counting done we are delighted to announce the day raised £5278 for charity, with thanks to everyone who took part and made donations for the chosen charities. (WhizzKidz, Alzheimer’s Society, Help for Heroes, British Heart Foundation, Prostate Cancer, Mind, CBT & Macmillan Cancer Support).
